The issue with now is that it’s not forever, and the issue with forever is that it never ends. And so, we’re stuck. Stuck in this particular instant, hoping that it grows longer but knowing that it won’t. Knowing that we’ll have to say goodbye to everyone and everything, including this moment. But we try. We try to persist. We try to capture change in the stories we tell ourselves, weaving the present into a narrative that includes the past and explains the future. But these stories aren’t real. There is no tomorrow and the past passed us by long ago. There is only today. We’re stuck right here and right now, forever. Forever now. Forever wishing for more time.
